A fill mixture composed of Polyvinyl butyral (Butvar 98), Kaolin, and fine particles of paper, Hemp and/or Jute. AJK dough is prepared as a water emulsion. It dries with some shrinkage to form a strong, lightweight material. AJK dough has been used for ceramic fills and reconstruction. It has also been used to repair badly cupped and lifted lacquer (Umney 1987).
