Description
A former brand name for a fibrous variety of talc (hydrated Magnesium silicate) that was used in paper coatings. Agalite produced a dense, highly polished paper. The soapstone mineral is mined in New Jersey. Other similar minerals, such as Talc and Asbestine, have also been called agalite.
