Description
Originally, an untreated plain weave Cotton or Linen fabric used for the outer covering on airplanes and gliders. In World War I, airplane cloth was coated with Cellulose nitrate lacquer called airplane dope. Currently, airplane cloth is made from polyester or nylon fabrics. The strong durable fabric is used for ultralight planes and gliders as well as for flight clothing, jackets, and luggage.
