Boron fiber

Description

Fibers composed of elemental Boron are prepared as vapor-deposited filaments of a heated tungsten wire. Boron fibers are used for reinforcing and heat resistance in composite materials such as ceramics, metals, and epoxy resins. They are also woven into fabrics. Boron fibers have been used in many aircraft and space applications.
