Celadon

Description

A soft, gray-green, iron-containing glaze ceramic glaze. Similar in color to celadonite, celadon glaze is prepared by firing oxide red iron oxide in a reducing oven. Celadon was developed during the Sung Dynasty and was valued for its resemblance to jade (Mayer 1969).
