Description

A textile impregnated with Cellulose nitrate. Celastic becomes moldable when activated with heat and tacky when activated with solvent (Acetone or MEK). When dry and cool, it forms a stiff, lightweight shell. It was used by model makers, taxidermists, and orthopedists for lightweight support. Celastic has been used for reinforcing joins on fragmentary archaeological vessels.
