Copaiba oil

Description
A low viscosity oil distilled from balsam copaiba balsam resin. Copaiba oil is a transparent, yellowish oil with a strong smell. It thickens with age, becoming resinous in a few days. Copaiba oil was recommended in 1915 as an additive to slow the drying of oil paints. However, because copaiba prevents the complete oxidation of the oil linseed oil and can later soften in warm conditions, this practice was quickly discouraged.
