Description
Handmade or machine-made paper with an irregular, untrimmed edge. Deckle edge paper is considered ornamental and is usually of a high quality. Handmade paper form a deckle edge when extra paper fibers flow against and under the mold frame forming a rough uneven edge. Machine-made deckle paper simulates the rough edges by either removing the edging frame prior to manufacture or by tearing the edges of the dry paper after production.
