Calcium sulfate

Polarized photomicrograph of calcium sulfate at 200X. From the McCrone Paint Pigment Reference Set. Due to small particle size, it is difficult to differentiate particles of calcium sulfate from that of other pigments with an optical microscope. Sample provided by the MFA Scientific Research Lab.
