Description

A paper that contains a fluorescent additive, usually a whitener. Fluorescent additives are used to make papers, and other materials such as textiles, appear whiter. When viewed in light that has an ultraviolet component, such as natural daylight, the fluorescent additive will emit light in addition to the normally reflected light thus making the paper appear brighter. Under ultraviolet light, papers and textiles with fluorescent additives will produce a strong bluish-white emission.
