Description
A soft tacky Latex rubber extracted from many Solidago species most of which are native to North America. One species, S. leavenworthii, contains the most rubber. Goldenrod rubber occurs in the plant as a latex in isolated spots within the leaves. The dry leaves may contain as much as 7% rubber. A Natural resin, that occurs with the rubber, must be removed for the rubber to harden.
