Artifact Information
Museum of Fine Arts, Boston 1999.128, Silk samite 59 x 110 cm (23 1/4 x 43 5/16 in.)
The object is a silk samite fabric with repeating pattern of parallel rows of pink peonies encircled by scrolling foliage in green and blue on a reddish-orange ground. [1]. The piece is probably a Song or Yuan dynasty (12th–14th century) samite.
