Description

White crystalline needles with a mild odor. Phthalic anhydride is used in the manufacture of dyes, alkyd resins, polyester resins, insecticides and many phthalate plasticizers. It is also used to make some fluorescent dyes such as fluorescein, eosin and rhodamine.
