Polarized glass

Description

Glass that permits only the passage of light aligned to its plane of polarization. Polarized glass is made by adding fine crystals of tourmaline or peridot to the molten glass. The glass is stretched as it cools to align the crystals parallel to one axes (Brady 1971).
