Colorless, waxy compound. Stearamide is commonly used as a release agent on the surface of plastic bags (e.g., [[Ziploc%C2%AE|Ziploc®]]) to prevent the sides from sticking together. Small amounts of stearamide can readily transfer to the surface of any material placed inside the bags.
