White rust

Description

A natural white tarnish on zinc coated pieces. White rust, or zinc bloom, is composed of basic carbonate zinc carbonate, hydroxide zinc hydroxide, and oxide zinc oxide. Zinc bloom forms on metallic zinc in moist air.
