Description
Large deciduous liquidambar trees, such as Liquidambar orientalis, native to Turkey and the Balkan islands. Storax tree were cultivated for the production of storax resin. The wood is a medium brown color with a close grain. The wood was used for local construction, roofing and flooring. The storax resin was used for perfumes and embalming.
