Benzidine dye

A group of azo dyes derived from 3,3'-dichlorobenzidine that have lightfast yellow and orange colors. Examples are Congo red and diarylide dye.

Hazards and Safety

Highly toxic. Human carcinogen, often causing bladder cancer.
