Description

Paper prepared with potassium nitrate and a fragrant resin, such as tolu or storax. First patented in 1871 by P.A.Miccion, fumigating papers were used to deodorize closed spaces as well as to repel insects and moths. Fumigating paper was used in the 19th century for lining closets and chests.
