International Council on Monuments and Sites

The International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) is an international membership organization focused on the preservation of the world's historic monuments and sites. Created by UNESCO is 1965, ICOMOS promotes the exchange of information and the establishment of standard practices for the protection, preservation, restoration, and management of World Heritage sites. The ICOMOS website includes a database with over 19,000 bibliographic references, links to its National committees (over 107) and Scientific committees (21). It also provides a direct link to the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites.
