The Institute is focused on providing in-depth research and education in conservation, preservation, technical study, and analysis of museum collections. Located near Washington DC, the Institute is composed of over 30 staff members working in well-equipped conservation and scientific research labs. They regularly sponsor training programs, produce educational materials, and publish research papers advancing the field of conservation.
