Description

A compound that forms a cohesive, unified material. In paints, the binder forms a solid film that adheres the pigments to the substrate. In adhesives, the binder provides the adhesion to hold two parts together. Examples of binders are synthetic resins, drying oils, waxes, gums, natural resins, and some proteins.
