Description

The three-dimensional relationship between the parts of a rock, including their shapes, and sizes. The example of structure is shape preferred orientation of rock-forming minerals. The prefixes micro-(in the thin section scale), meso- (hand specimen scale), and macro- (outcrop scale) can be used.
