Torchon lace

Description

An inexpensive, coarse Bobbin lace. Torchon lace is characterized by loosely woven, simple geometric patterns. It was typically made by peasants in many European countries. Torchon lace was used to make doilies, edge household linens, and to trim muslin garments.
