| Uemura's notes | The color is what was called "Tsurubami ()" in the Buyakuryo (), the 8th century AD, Japan. The color called "Tsurubami ()" in the Engishiki (), the 10th century AD was slightly more red. This was probably to differentiate it from "Ki-tsurubami-some ()". The "Ki-tsurubami-zome" found in the Ibukuryo () from the 8th century AD, was also named to differentiate it from black called "Tsurubami ()" . In the Ibukuryo, a color called "Koro-sen ()" was not included, whereas in the Engishiki, black named "Tsurubami" was not. |
