Underfur

Description

The bottom or underlayer of short soft hairs in some mammals. The underfur is often curly and dense. In some animals, the underfur is the only hair layer, such as in Wool. In other animals, such as Mink or Beaver, the underfur is covered with long, stiff guard hairs.
