Inhibitor

Description
A chemical that retards or prevents a chemical or physical change. Examples of an inhibitor include: vapor phase inhibitors to minimize corrosion; growth regulators to control insects; alkaline reserves to inhibit acid accumulation; and antioxidants to minimize oxidation.
