Chloride paper

Description

A type of photographic printing paper prepared with a thin layer of an emulsion containing Silver chloride. Chloride paper has low sensitivity and prints slowly. It was used mainly for contact prints in which the paper was placed directly against the negative with the emulsion sides together. It was exposed with bright light, usually daylight, then fixed with Sodium thiosulfate. Silver chloride paper gives hard blue-black prints.
