Description
A brownish-black amorphous powder. Black copper oxide occurs in nature as the mineral tenorite (triclinic crystals) and paramelaconite (cubic crystals). It is used as a pigment in glass, artificial gems, inorganic enamels, and ceramics. Black copper oxide is also used as an abrasive for polishing optical glass and as a flux in copper metallurgy.
