Description

[Pennsalt Chemical] A brand name for a line of household insecticides. Knox-Out insecticides originally contained DDT along with Chlordane and pyrethrins. They were available as powders, sprays, and liquid emulsions. One emulsion of special concern, Knox-Out EQ-53, was made for mothproofing woolens contained DDT. Since DDT is nonbiodegradable, any woolens treated with this insecticide will still have residual toxic compounds. Knox-Out was reformulated in the 1970s and DDT was replaced by Diazinon as the active ingredient.
