Leather Conservation Centre
The Leather Conservation Centre (LSS) was established in 1978 as a non-profit-making organisation with charitable status offering world-wide service in leather conservation. The Centre undertakes practical conservation, training, research and analysis, consultancy work, and produces a wide-ranging series of publications on all aspects of leather conservation. Its principal activity of fee-earning practical conservation work covers a wide range of historical items, including decorated screens, wall-hangings, car and carriage upholstery, harness and saddlery, costume, and archaeological and ethnographic items.
