Description

Short, soft, lightweight fibers produced from a tree in the silk cotton family, Ceiba aesculifolia, native to El Salvador. The white to pale brown fibers are buoyant and resilient. They are similar to kapok and are used for pillows, mattresses, life preservers, and insulation. See also bombax.
