Polished gemstones
A selection of gem pebbles: made by tumbling rough rock with abrasive, in a rotating drum. The picture was made without use of a camera, simply by arranging the pebbles on the glass of my flat bed scanner. Photographed by Adrian Pingstone in February 2003 and released to the public domain.
