Stearin wax

Description

An old name for a commercial mixture containing Stearic acid mixed with 3 to 30% Palmitic acid. Stearin wax is an opaque, whitish material that was used in the 19th century for molded objects (Harley 1993). It was also used for candles and cosmetics.
