Grindstone

Description

A heavy, flattened stone used for grinding and polishing. Usually made from sandstone, a grindstone is mounted for rotation around a central axis. Materials are either held against the revolving stone for sharpening or placed between the stone and another fixed stone for pulverizing. Grindstones can be used to mill flour or mechanically turn wood chips to pulp.
