Description

[Filati Lastex] A former trademark for an elasticized fabric used in the 1930s for swimsuits and girdles. Lastex fibers were made from polyisoprene. They were superseded by the introduction of Spandex (1959) with superior properties. The company now produces extruded rubber threads under the trademark of Filatron® that is used in textiles, diapers and medical support garments.
