Uemera's notes | Those fresh leaves in blue color were collected and rubbed onto the fabric. Carried out on May 15th, 1931. The leaves tended to be more red than those of other plants containing indigo, such as Yamaai 山藍 (Mercurialis leiocarpa Siebold et Zecc.) and Tade-ai 蓼藍 (Persicaria tinctoria (Aiton) Spach (Polygonum tinctorium Aiton)). |
