Description
A filtration method for removing particulates from the air. In an electrostatic precipitator, the air stream is passed through a series of positive charge plates. Further downstream is a negatively charged collector plate that attracts and holds the particles. The high voltage of the plates causes the formation of Ozone, and thus should not be used in museums.
Synonyms and Related Terms

Hazards and Safety
Forms significant amounts of ozone which is highly reactive with most organic materials.
