Description
A beetle (Xylopsocus capucinus) from the family Bostrichidae, most often found in neotropical and tropical regions. The false powderpost beetle larvae feed on hardwoods leaving round to slightly oval emergence holes. The dark-colored adult insects are about 3-6 mm in length and can live up to two years. They are active flyers at night.
