Description
A pine tree, Pinus caribaea, native to the southeastern United States, the Caribbean, and Mexico. The slash pine is an important source of turpentine and rosin. It is also used for paper pulp. The slash pine has coarse-grain, resinous wood that is sometimes used for lumber and millwork. Slash pine also a common name give for the longleaf pine (Pinus palustris) that also grown tint the southeastern US.
