Description

A double-sheet of clear Cellulose acetate sealed around two or three edges to form a clear sleeve. Acetate envelopes have been used for see-through protection of fragile documents, letters, photographs and maps. Additionally cellulose acetate film was used to laminate documents. It is rarely used now, with preference given to polyethylene, polypropylene and polyester films and envelopes.

See also Acetate film.
