Description

[Purdue Pharma] A registered trademark for a yellowish-brown powder used as a topical disinfectant. Betadine®, first patented in 1955, dissolves in water to form a slightly acidic solution. The microbicide kills fungi and protozoa along with both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
