Description

Yellow needles or powder. Paranitroaniline is used in the colorimetric test for Lignin. The intensity of the color is proportional to the concentration of lignin in the sample.

  • Wood pulp - brick red to dark orange color
  • Mechanical pulp - orange
  • Bleached sulfite pulp - yellow

Synonyms and Related Terms

p-nitroaniline; 4-nitroaniline; 1-amino-4-nitrobenzene; para nitro anilina (Esp.)

Chemical structure
