Description

A type of Color film that contains three-color emulsion layers for simultaneous exposure. The three emulsion layers of the film contain minute oily globules with color couplers that reacted to form the colored dyes. The three color can either be placed in separate overlaying layers or integrated on a single support (called integral tripack). The first successful integral tripack, Kodachrome®, was introduced in 1935. Ektachrome® was an integral tripack color process that could be developed at home with specialized chemical kits. Most color negative film and color transparencies are tripacks.
