Description
Any of several intense white lamps. High intensity discharge (HID) lamps fall into three main categories: mercury vapor (high pressure), sodium vapor, and metal halide. High intensity discharge lamps are used for lighting streets, parking lots, tunnels and other large areas. In general, these lamps have fair to poor color rendering indices.
