Description
A thick, straw-color, hygroscopic liquid. The commercial product is composed of a mixture of the mono-, di- and tri-acetates that are formed by heating Glycerol with glacial Acetic acid. It is used as a solvent for basic dyes and tannins. It is also used to gelatinize smokeless powders and as a reagent in dynamite.
