Description

The reduction in the amount of moisture in the atmosphere. A device that removes water vapor is called a dehumidifier or drier. Two types of driers can be used: 1) a refrigeration type and 2) a chemical Desiccant or deliquescent. A refrigeration type drier cools the air below its dew temperature to condense the water wapor to a liquid. Desiccants and deliquescents adsorb water vapor from the air. Examples are Silica gel, Activated alumina, molecular sieves, Glycerol, Calcium chloride, and Potassium carbonate.
