Description
A noble gas element from the periodic table group 0. At room temperature, krypton is a colorless, odorless gas. It does not form stable compounds with any other element. Krypton occurs naturally in the atmosphere at a level of 1.14 ppm. Pure krypton is isolated by fractional distillation of liquid air. Krypton is used as an inert filler in special purpose electric bulbs, such as aircraft approach lamps.
