Description
A mixture of sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate. Laundry soda is a strongly alkaline cleaner that was used in textile processing and commercial laundry soaps. A slightly weaker soap, called textile soap was used for cleaning fine wool and cotton fabrics. Both of these alkaline soaps cause cottons to yellow.
