Description
A coniferous tree, Pinus jeffreyi, similar to the Ponderosa pine. Jeffrey pine is used as a commercial source for heptane, rather than turpentine. The soft, lightweight lumber from the Jeffrey pine is usually sold as Ponderosa pine. It is used in papermaking, general construction, and cabinetwork.
